Hawaii Car Rental

When visiting the exotic and beautiful of islands of Hawaii, it is important to bear in mind the transportation issues you may faced. While some of the bigger and more "developed" islands have a solid transportation infrastructure in place, some of the lesser visited islands such as Maui and Kauai, may be lacking in public transportation.

Fortunately, there are many solid car rental agencies throughout the island, most of these Hawaii car rental agencies have competitive pricing as well as an expansive fleet. You can choose from economy and midsize cars all the way to convertibles like the Ford Mustang and Jeep Wranglers for the more adventurous ones. The Hawaii Vacation Bureau is also another good place to find rental car agencies.

Another thing to consider while renting cars is insurance. Like in most other US states, insurance coverage is optional. The most common type of insurance is the Loss Damage Waiver (LDW). This can range from $17.99 a day to $21.99 per day. The next most frequently used insurance is a supplemental liability policy (SLI). This type of insurance will protect you against claims from others. This supplemental policy can range from $10.99 to $12.99 per day.

Having said the above, it would be wise to check if you are already covered by your current car insurance policy. Even your credit card company may have some form of rental car insurance. Please view this following Hawaii Car Rental FAQ for more information.

Buckle up and have a safe and memorable vacation in Hawaii!
